The reproduction quality of the artwork is terrible. If you want the book for the text, the book is certainly fine. If you collect beautiful engravings from the 19th century, this reproduction is poor. So, maybe it has to be a trade-off between paying a high price for an original edition or paying much less for a lousy reprint like this one. Maybe some publishers do a better job than this one. There are many of these print-on-demand type reprint books nowadays. A few have been good, but most, in my experience, are poor (again - for artwork). I am becoming increasingly wary of spending money on these. Saving up to buy the originals may be a better use of money. I wonder though: how can the publishing technology of 150+ years ago be better than the high-tech world of today? I don't get it...
